Introduction: As the owner of AS Architectural Design, LLC I am directly involved in all aspects of the project and I continually maintain a productive and communicating partnership with my clients. I am available to discuss any aspect of the project at any time. We strive to create architecture which satisfied the highest aesthetic and functional standards while incorporating the economic requirements of our clients. I am register Architect in New Jersey. I am also a Member of The American Institute of Architect. We work on residential and commercial projects ranging from alternations / additions to new construction. What I like most about being an architect is the process of creating a space (object, interior, building, or facade) which is going to improve someone's quality of life. We surround ourselves with outstanding talent; both in our staff and in the people with whom we do business. As a team, we strive to allow the best solutions to rise to the top.

AS Architectural Design exceeded every expectation we had for our renovation. They were thoughtful, respectful, and attentive listeners, designing around our family's needs and personal requests. They were creative and sophisticated, surprising us with lovely details throughout and inspiring unequivocal trust in their taste. Ayman did excellent design and oversight work in a major remodeling and renovation of our home. The project was very complex, given the rather oddly shape of the property, which had been built on to in rather awkward ways over several decades. The design ideas produced by Ayman were uniformly excellent, and typically innovative, unexpected, and interesting - producing an impressive overall aesthetic effect. They also ensured that our relationship with contractors, structural engineers, and other relevant parties was productive and congenial, and were exceptionally helpful in guiding us threw choosing materials, appliances, and the like. Problems that arose along the way were efficiently and considerately dealt with.

I consider AS Architectural Design to be extremely talented with an amazing design aesthetic. They designed an extremely unique and special home for my family and the results are amazing. They were extremely professional and thoroughly dedicated to the project from start to finish. They maintained a high standard, were very detail-oriented and held the contractor to performing the work in that manner. It was a pleasure working with them and in fact, we are going to be working together again on another home for my employer, proof that their work was a resounding success.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not a standard pricing system for our services. After the scope of Architectural Work to be performed is established, the amount of time required to complete the work is calculated and a proposal is prepared based on that fee.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process begins with a consultation with the homeowner, which is held at their home. I listen to and take notes on everything they want to do and I usually offer ideas on the spot. After the consultation, I return to my office to write the proposal, which outlines all that we talked about in the consultation, lists the likely drawings needed to define the project for the town and builder, gives the amount of time needed to perform architectural services, and provides a quote on my fee. Writing the proposal document takes 5-7 days and is emailed to the homeowner. If the proposal is accepted by the homeowner, I return to the house to take measurements and photographs of the existing house. I use those measurements to draw the existing conditions of the interior and exterior of the house in my computer software. That step usually takes a week or so and upon completion the as-built drawings are emailed to the homeowner. The next step is to start generating design concepts. The number and detail of options depends on the job, but on average 3 distinct options with variations normally yields the final design that the homeowner wants to do. From there the major part of architectural services begins, which is the construction drawings. These drawings, which are very detailed in code and construction specifications are given to the contractor and town so that a permit can be obtained and construction can begin. An average project, an addition to an existing house that adds 50% more space to the house, can take around 2 months for just the architectural services from start to finish; construction time is additional.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have Bachelor's of Architecture degree and I have been a registered Architect for 10 years and have worked in the Architectural Field for 16 Years. I am an active member of the American Institute of Architects. I am continually attending seminars in order to insure that I am current with codes, regulations and manufacture products .
