FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most importantly, clients should be informed that uncertified trainers, of which there are many, charge similar or larger fees for services which sound similar but actually involve punishment based methods. These methods can cause fear, anxiety and aggression to manifest or intensify the current problem behaviors while extinguishing warning signs. They also increase not only undue stress on their dog but also their own legal liability. My fee includes the training session or board & train, using positive based methods along with handouts and training plans geared towards continued progress. All board and trains include one free 1-2 hour transitional training session. All B&Ts, training sessions and behavior consultations include continued free access to me for follow-up questions via email, text, or phone.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before any training begins, I ask that the guardian fill out a standard questionnaire form so that I can best meet their needs and make the most of their time during sessions. I Do Not use the Thumbtack calendar. Please contact me with questions and for scheduling through my email address, phone call or text message.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
10 years of experience at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley including years of experience as a Training and Behavior Consultant in their Training Center. I have a certification in training and consulting through the world renowned Jean Donaldson's Academy for Dog Trainers. This academy is designed to be a two year program which not only provides instruction in basic manners training but also provides an intense focus on the most current behavior modification techniques, with regular testing and guidance from a renowned animal behaviorist.
