FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is best explained in the Shop section of my website. I divide up the components that I am working on for a customer. Most of the components, I charge a flat rate, some hourly (artwork mostly - since all art is subjective.) Since not all websites are identical, I have a questionnaire on my website. That give's me a good idea of the components needed, enough for a preliminary quote. I send the quote, with a breakdown of the cost items to you. Then I apply a discount (thumbtack customers get 30% off.)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to engage with my customers daily during the week I am working on there site (most sites take a week.) The process is done in stages, you would sign off on each stage as we progress. I happily rework, if your unsatisfied. I enjoy my work, and it's great to work with people that are passionate about their website!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree from Boston University in Computer Science and have worked in the computer industry for 30 years. I owned my own e-commerce company back in 2000 - 2005 developing a marketplace app but Amazon beat me to it. I have been working with WordPress for the last two years. At first I hated WordPress, finding it's user interface to be cumbersome and unintuitive. But as I worked with it, I found it's elegance in design and I can easily explain it to people now. I also change the interface for some people.
