Introduction: I started teaching guitar to people of all ages when I was 17, only 3 years after beginning to learn myself. I graduated in 2010 from Belmont University with a degree in Music Education. I specialize in acoustic guitar (especially fingerpicking style) and classical guitar. My curriculum can also include training in music theory and songwriting. I also have over five years experience as a touring musician and I still regularly tour the country along with my wife as, 'The Lockwoods." You can hear some of our music at our website. What I love most about this work is not just training students to become great musicians but also to really care for and serve the student as a person with unique hopes and dreams. I love people, and I truly enjoy helping each student reach their full musical potential.

Patrick has been a guitar teacher for my two sons (ages 11 & 20) for about 3 years. He has been outstanding. Patrick found out what each of my boys wanted out of guitar lessons before teaching them - did they want to be a musician, did they just want a hobby, did they just want to learn to play, WHAT did they want? He finds out what makes them "tick" in life and he naturally, flawlessly, magically works that into learning to play the guitar in a fun, casual, laid-back way. He's incredibly patient and gives them so much encouragement to expand their ideas and thoughts. He knows when to push and when to back off. My oldest had taught himself some things off of Youtube but was ready to move on to the next level. Patrick was phenomenal in that transition. Patricks talents are endless at whatever level. We are so blessed to have found him.

Patrick is the sole reason I am playing guitar and writing my own music to my songs. He is a wonderful teacher who is very talented, but is extremely patient and effective with his students. I am currently living in Los Angeles, but I am still taking lessons from Patrick once a week via Skype/FaceTime because he is the best guitar teacher I've found. As a person, he is trustworthy, kind and has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend Patrick Lockwood- he is worth every penny!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My usual rate is 60$ an hour which will enable me to focus solely on your musical growth during that hour. Additionally, a teacher spends some personal time on preparation for the student's lesson. Not all students can afford $60 an hour, and in some cases I will offer a discounted rate when it is needed and I have the availability. Please do not let the financials be an issue. Give me a call!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Telephone conversation, First lesson (getting to know each other!) and we're off!

Bachelor's of Music Education from Belmont University (Classical Guitar Principal) Over 12 years experience teaching private guitar (at various providers)
