Erin is without a doubt one of the most concentrated and dedicated nutrition/wellness coaches I have ever had the pleasure of working with. It is obvious from her continued commitment to research and education that she has placed herself into a position to make herself time and time again a valuable contributor and leader in the wellness field. As a former athlete and busy professional, I asked Erin to put together a meal plan for me that would allow me to maintain a high protein diet, support my active lifestyle and also not yield a long preparation time. Erin was able to implement a meal plan and diet schedule that not only met, but exceeded my expectations. Working with Erin as a coach has been a game changer for me. I'm a Type 1 diabetic and I really needed to change my diet. I wasn't taking care of myself the way that I should have. I was working out every day, but my eating habits were horrible. Outside of the gym, I had little energy and was not feeling well a lot of the time. Erin took the time to work with me and listen to me without judgment. She listened to my needs, asked the right questions, and paid attention to everything I said, to create a detailed plan for me to change my habits. The best part was I still got to eat foods that I loved and was never hungry. A goal of mine was to maintain my size and not lose muscle while getting healthier. She helped me to do this and I was successful. She also offered great substitutes for the foods that I wanted to eliminate from my diet. This way, I was still satisfied without consuming foods that were deterring me from my goals. It wasn't a diet for me- it was a lifestyle change and it was way easier than expected because of Erin's style. She helps you to determine your goals, create a plan to reach them that is sustainable and easy (if you do your part), and she supports you every step of the way. I appreciate that she has followed up with me consistently, and is always willing to add new ideas and tweak anything that I don't like or that isn't working. Ive known Erin for going on eight years and during this time Ive never known her to be inconsistent with her physical or mental wellness. Sure, there will always be bumps in the road, obstacles to overcome, and no one will ever be perfect, but Erins physical and intellectual dedication is incredible. One thing I enjoy most about consulting with Erin is her ability to listen, ask bright questions and provide knowledge that has only resulted in open and enlightening dialogue, with real world results. I believe this enables her to hone more accurately on specific issue(s) individuals are having. For me, having chronic back pain is the most prominent issue I deal with in my life and Erin of course is the person I go to when discussing different ways to mitigate and avoid injury. She has made me realize so much about diversifying my exercise routine, and how vitally important nutrition habits are for optimal physical and psychologically development. Although judgment is necessary for growth, Erin presents it with tact and consideration. For instance, I have smoked cigarettes on and off for many years, and one day I called Erin to discuss these types of issues. She very bluntly, with a sense of urgency told me how bad it was and that I needed to stop, for my own sake. No one likes feeling vulnerable, but she was right and I havent smoked a cigarette for 6 months. Honesty might be the most important aspect of her line of work, and its not always easy communicating that with people who might be feeling susceptible. Erin however, has always handled it like a seasoned professional. I cant thank her enough for her thoughtfulness and availability. Hi all!My name is Kelly and Erin Kenney has been a long time friend of mine. She was my roommate for 3 years in college and boy did she save my health. I started off running long distances in college (very slowly by the way). I remember living with Erin and noticing how dedicated she was to her health. I would be shoving my face with doritos and starbursts while Erin was eating quinoa and bananas. I began to become frustrated because I was not seeing results from all of my running. My goal at that point was to lose weight. One day, I decided to ask Erin. I knew she was a nutrition major and seemed to be the perfect person to ask because I was putting in the work but I just wasnt getting the results I wanted. I remember her saying, Kelly, you love to run but you dont eat like you love to run. I remember thinking, huh? What does that mean? She further explained that my body needed the proper nutrients in order to get the results I was working so hard for.Fast forward a few years, I lost roughly 20 pounds just from her guidance of trying to eat more food ! She gave me great options and always had an alternative if I had a craving. Finally, I decided I needed to ditch the running because honestly, I was getting bored of it. I started doing Crossfit ironically enough (seeing that I am 511, this isnt common for someone my height and female). Immediately, I began to notice I was sore and run down all of the time. I felt that I was eating okay, but I needed something to change. I wanted to get bigger now!So, I called Erin! At this point, I had realized that she was the nutrition guru. From making me protein waffles to teaching me that cocoanut oil is your friend, I knew that she was the perfect person for me to run to once again. Now, I have been doing crossfit for three years, six days a week. Erin has been my nutrition coach through the entire process. With her guidance, I have seen extreme changes in my body composition. She created a meal plan specific for my needs with food I LIKED! (Like I previously said, my diet consisted of doritos and starbursts and a lot of donuts). Besides creating an easy to follow, true to my food preferences, and helpful food plan, she has always been there when I need her. If I cheat or want a substitute, she answers me right away, that is why Erin is special. Her ability to give me substitutes or help me when I cheat is what has kept me on my plan.She is kind, caring, strong, compassionate, and intelligent. You are not a number to her, you are a person who wants to change for the better. Please, take my UTMOST recommendation for Erin. Whatever your goals are, she can help you! I have been working with Erin on developing healthy diet and exercise habits for about a year and a half. Before working with Erin I would spend hours online searching for a regimen that promised to deliver the results I wanted in a short period of time. While those plans werent necessarily ineffective for me, Erin showed me real and practical steps to take to reach any fitness goal I wanted, stretching far beyond a several week plan.
