Tyler did several concrete jobs, and other related construction jobs. He was always prompt as well as very knowledgeable in the work he was doing for me. I would highly recommend him.

Job: A concrete pad and short length of wooden fence. 1) When he came to give me an estimate I did not receive the written estimate until after he showed up to do the job and I insisted that he give me one in writing. 2) The bid in writing was for the concrete pad and small fence and the total was $1600. He then told me that the estimate was incorrect and that it shouldn't have included the fence. He gave me another estimate that did not include the fence and the total was $1600 and then he verbally told me that I owed him another $400 for the fence. 3) When they were doing the work one of his workers was using a pickaxe to dig up the dirt and the worker was barefooted while pickaxing. 4) When he came for the estimate I was specific in asking that the fence be "at least an inch off the pavement and that I do not want the fence to touch the concrete." When he was finished the fence touched the concrete most of the way across. 5) For the concrete pad I was specific in asking that "the plumbing clean out be kept accessible." The concrete he put in did not leave enough room for the clean out cap to be taken out and had to be chipped away by a plumber and a new cap had to be installed by the plumber. 6) I Told Tyler that he needed to bring the check back to me so that I could either reissue him a check minus the plumber bill for fixing the clean out that he mishandled, or he could cash the check and bring me that amount of the plumber bill. Tyler did not show up and cashed the check. 7) I asked Tyler to come to the house so that we could discuss these matters and we agreed on a specific time when he was going to come to the house to look at these issues. He did not show at the agreed time and did not let me know that he was not going to show up. 8) When I called him he was offensive and would not let me talk. He told me that the fence is on a slanted patio and that is why the fence touched the pavement half of the way. When I tried to let him know that I was completely aware of the slope and that is why I instructed him that the fence should "at least be an inch off the pavement" he told me that I was wrong and that he was not going to do anything. I tried to explain to him that because of the slope the fence should start with the highest point of the patio at an inch above and at the lowest point it should have been over an inch above the patio. When I tried to talk to him about the clean out he told me that he "does not do any plumbing work." I tried to make it clear that he was asked to make it so that the clean out was accessible and that has nothing to do with him having to do plumbing, but he maintained his viewpoint in an uncivil way. He did not make sense with his arguments, he refused to allow me to talk and when I was able to get a word in he was rude in his responses. He refused to listen to me and he refused to do anything to make it right. 9) I asked Tyler specifically when he came to do the estimate about rebar and he assured me that he would use rebar. I am concerned that Tyler may not have used rebar in the construction of the patio.
Ellis concrete's reply
So Thumbtack has informed me that's our system has been hacked and have been leaving reviews like this making no sense I have never done work for a lady with this name nor do I know this person I would like all contractors and customers to be aware that anybody is able to review you even if you do not know them. Thumbtack is working on this and would get back with me as soon as I found out something I hope something like this does not ruin my reputation or my quality of work. As you can see from previous reviews this makes no sense compared to the other ones.
