FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would have the client fill out a questionnaire before our first initial meeting to get a better sense of their goals, fitness history, medical history, preferences, and expectations. The initial meeting would consist of: Client and trainer talking about the questionnaire to iron out any concerns both parties may have. An initial assessment of the client (body measurements and range of motion). A short circuit to test the client's physical ability and act as a gauge for what type of program the client should undergo. Finalization of scheduling
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a bachelor's of science in Wellness Management from SUNY Oswego. I am also a certified personal trainer from ACE and have a certification in Progressive Calisthenics.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In my pursuit of becoming a physical therapist, my school offered personal training for the students, from the students. I participated in the personal training program as a client and then went on to take the class to become a personal trainer. I quickly realized the benefit and importance of preventative work as opposed to rehabilitation. If I could help improve someone's health before they get hurt, they won't miss out on valuable experiences and opportunities.
