Introduction: I have performed over 600 public music performances as a part of a band and/or as a solo keyboardist, at over 50 different venues in Philadelphia, Wilmington, New York City, Baltimore and New Jersey area. I mainly play piano, electric piano and Hammond organ. As member of a band, I have played Funk, New Orleans, Classic Rock, Blues, Jazz and Fusion. As a solo pianist, my playing style is more into Jazz easy listening (swing, bossanova, foxtrot), Pop/Rock Standard, Blues/New Orleans easy listening and ragtime. I have been playing keys for over 20 years and graduated from Berklee College of Music with a major in Jazz Composition and Music Production & Engineering. I have taught students, teenagers, adult and small children as young as 5 years old. My teaching is focused on stylistic piano playing (chord playing, improvisation, transposition) for students over 10 year old with at least 1 year continuous piano training. I certainly welcome piano training for beginners as early as preparatory level. I've been taking weekly blues piano lessons for a few months. I was immediately impressed that Hadi is a working blues musician and university music professor. This is a very rare combination that you will not find easily on the Internet. He uses a specific curriculum and provides everything you need. You don't have to buy lesson books. However, he adjusts the material as needed to ensure that students are technically strong in all areas. I appreciated that he did not just go through the motions when my play was mediocre. Rather, he adapted the approach so that I would progress and develop into the best musician I can be. I've had 2 previous piano instructors, but neither had the credentials, knowledge, and experience that Hadi possesses. Lessons are light-hearted, fun, and he is very encouraging. He challenges you to get better and gives you all the tools and information to do so. Then it just is a matter of listening to what he says and practicing as much as possible. Lastly, I'm a full time legal professional, and he has been willing to work around my busy schedule. Highly recommend for anyone serious about learning blues piano!

I’m thankful for having found Hadi as my teenage son's new piano teacher. My son had been taking lessons for years but was losing interest. His enthusiasm for learning and playing has increased tremendously. Hadi is personable, talented, and is a wonderful teacher!

Working with Hadi is a true pleasure. He has an immense amount of knowledge and experience to boot. Hadi is extremely easy to work with and has tons of patience while in the lesson. He has a keen ability to analyze where you are as a player and build a personalized plan to reach your goals. I highly recommend him as a teacher for pursuing jazz piano as well as other contemporary styles.

We love having Hadi for our son's piano teacher. He really cares about the student and personalizes the lessons to meet the needs of the student. He also teaches the student theory and interpretation so the student can learn to write his own music. My son started taking piano lessons in elementary school and over the years he has had four other piano teachers. Hadi is the best by far. My son raves about Hadi and wished he had him years ago.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Piano lesson starts at $1/minute, with a minimum duration of 30 min per meeting. The rate may increase when student passes 3 years of continuous piano lesson to compensate the specific customization and longer preparation time. I recommend 45 or 60 min lesson when chord playing is introduced. A mileage fee will be added for in-home lesson. I travel up to approx 3 miles radius only from my location.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I provide a free 30-45 min first lesson for interview purposes. Note to prospective clients: My travel slots are already filled up. Currently my travel radius is limited to less than 3 miles from 19010. Please contact me only if you are willing to travel to 19010 for the lessons. Thank you for the attention.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Berklee College of Music graduate in Jazz Composition and Music Production and Engineering. Classically trained under Royal Music, and also Yamaha and Technics organ curriculum.
