Introduction: For price estimates please email or call. Brown Butter Bakes is a home based bakery located in Brooklyn, NY. Specializing in custom cakes, cupcakes and a variety of desserts, there's something for everyone! Everything I make is from scratch and baked using only the finest all natural and organic ingredients. In this era where everyone is being more conscious about what items are placed into their bodies, many forget that many of the desserts we've come to know and love are chock full of preservatives and ingredients we can't pronounce. I want to show everyone that through simple ingredients and the right techniques I can achieve desserts that reminds you of your grandma's kitchen with a modern twist. I enjoy watching people's reactions when they see their cake and their first bite. Many people have experienced cakes that look amazing but don't taste great, or cakes that are to die for, but look sub-par. I'm here to give people the best of both worlds.

Chioma, you were my saving grace. For one I appreciate your professionalism. You were so attentive and thorough from the on set. As an event planner, I've had my fair share of disappointments from vendors, talk less from the perspective of a client. However with you, there was a peace and assurance that settled this anxious spirit of mine. Thinking about it now, considering the timing of our whole interaction with each other, it's very clear that God's hand is on your work. Secondly, the cake, the cake, THE CAKE! As in, I was apprehensive at first thinking that I'm requesting such a detailed cake with bits and pieces from different pictures to be made in a week...Janet are you well? But then came the peace that I mentioned earlier. I couldn't quite imagine in my head what it would look like. Then it came out at dinner. You would have thought it was my birthday. No lie, I couldn't tell which was finer, the cake or the person it was for. I'm glad I couldn't create an image in my mind of what to expect. It wouldn't have done justice to what you created. I didn't want to cut it. If not that people wanted to eat it, I wouldn't have touched it! Ahh Chioma!! And it tasted good! The cheesecake was my favorite part! My sincerest prayer is that the work of your hands will never cease to flourish! You will never experience lack in any form. The blessings you will receive, because you blessed me, will know no end. All that you you will require to be great will be effortlessly given to you. You cannot experience NEED henceforth. Amen

It is evident that the owner of this company is SERIOUS and PASSIONATE about her work! I purchased a cake from her for my engagement party. Not only was this cake beautiful but it tasted amazing!!!! My cake was ready on time and the worksmanship was out of this world! I will definitely be purchasing another cake for my one year wedding anniversary!

I have worked with Brown Butter Cakes for my Mother's Birthday, my cousin's Bridal shower and my partner's birthday party. Each time she has surpassed my expectations. Each time I have placed an order, I have sat with her to discuss concept, feasibility, and presentation. She is so accommodating when it comes to certain dietary restrictions and the reality that cakes often times have to travel. Each time I have brought her cakes and sweets to an event, they were devoured by guests and most asked for her contact information. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started baking at a young age for family members and friends. After college I landed an internship in a custom cake bakery where I learned most of my skills. After a year I decided to launch my business on the side and after 2 years I decided to run my business full time.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently took part in a Great Gatsby themed wedding photo shoot. It gave me a chance to design a cake that showcased my skills and my attention to detail. I was able to meet some amazing entrepreneurs that I can't wait to work with again. The project took about 4 days to complete the project from conceptualization to finished project.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Research what you want if you can. If you don't know the exact thing you want telling us the event, theme or color scheme is just as good. Also, the more questions the better. You don't want to walk away from a conversation feeling uneasy about your decision.
