Tal Yahalom - Guitar & Music Theory

Introduction: I am an Israeli guitarist and composer based in New York City for the past 3 years. As a performer I have toured across the world as a soloist, leading my own bands and playing with other collaborations in Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Israel and the U.S. I'm the 1st prize winner of the Detroit Jazz Festival National Guitar Competition, 3rd prize winner of the International Montreux Jazz Festival guitar competition and a recipient of the prestigious AICF scholarship. Those years of experience have helped me develop a strong and versatile command of the instrumental and a broad musical perspective. I provide guitar and music theory lessons for all levels, mainly in the styles of jazz, rock and pop. I really enjoy teaching people of all ages and building a personal program for them to work on the things they are passionate about in a fun, interesting and creative way! I combine technique and theory with learning and performing new songs and want to give my students to the tools to keep developing on their own. I enjoy creating a personal experience for each of my students: One that is fun, motivating, challenging and creative which answers the individual's needs and ambitions while providing tools and methods to keep developing and investigating on his/her own.
