Dierk Peters

Introduction: Hello, I’m Dierk, Vibraphonist, Pianist and Composer, originally from Hamburg, Germany. After studying, touring and teaching in Europe I moved to NYC for my Masters at NYU and Manhattan School of Music in 2016. I graduated in May 2018, and now I’m working as a freelancer from my homebase in Brooklyn, NY. As a bandleader I released 5 records at this point, playing my music all over Europe and the East-Coast. As a sideman I played on a couple dozen records from bands, both in the US and Europe. I have been teaching piano, theory, ear-training, vibraphone and drums since I started making music professionally at age 14. In those almost 20 years I taught students of basically all ages and levels, introducing beginners to the music, guiding intermediate students, preparing musicians for auditions at conservatories and taught professionals, working on detail and new ideas. My passion is Improvisation and Composition, the understanding of how music works, and I love working with students on the music they love, helping them expressing themselves, and giving them the tools to get creative within music. My rates are $45/45min and $60/60min. We’ll have lessons at your place. I charge a little extra for the commute, depending on the distance. I’m looking forward to meet you!
