This person should not be a mover. Showing up with ZERO moving equipment is not acceptable. He didn't have dollies, hand trucks, blankets, tape, forearm straps, or anything else you would expect a mover to have. I hired him, then he explained that he thought I would be helping - no that's why I hired a mover. He also brought his girlfriend who was unable to help to lift anything heavy, and expected me to find him some help when she refused. It was a horrible experience. I ended up bringing two more of my own people to help, and unloaded a truck that took 5+ hours to load in about 1 hour, and he still required full pay.
