My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Sykes Construction. John Sykes answered our request for some work on our patio column and also ended up doing some work on our front garage. Their work was excellent and the price they quoted was very fair and accurate. They clearly take a lot of pride in their work - even thoroughly cleaning the area after they were done. They also offered us some additional advice on a couple of other things we had going on - even though we would be doing the work ourselves. They were very pleasant, courteous, and honest and we plan on calling them in the future for other projects we have in mind. Don't hesitate to call for your project. Highly recommended!

My husband hired Sykes Construction to build our new shop. Their prices were reasonable and the workers were professional and got the job done on schedule. The owner, Michael Sykes, is especially talented and has vision. We will be lifetime customers of Sykes Construction!!!

We just moved into a house and one flaw to the house was that my daughter's closet floors were angled due to the vaulted ceiling downstairs below her room thereby making the space useless. Mr. Sykes leveled the floors, so that we could use the closet floor space. He was on time, efficient, and completed the work for a very good price!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
New construction = square/linear footage, Remodels/additions/repairs are normally In the ballpark of materials x 2(not 100% accurate). Some jobs cannot be priced by footage in which I price all stages separately and simply add them together. Willing to negotiate price with most jobs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Schedule appointment - on site quote(unless quote is available without seeing the jobsite) - Estimate/Material list - Contract drawn up if everything is agreed upon - Start job
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Started in construction when I was 17, other than a year working at fed-ex it is all I have been doing since. My father and grandfather were back to back owners of "Sykes Contracting". So my childhood was also surrounded by many different types of construction and professionals.
