Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a mature and experienced performer and teacher in styles ranging from bluegrass and old-time to western swing and jazz. I work well with adult learners, especially those making the transition from classical violin to fiddle (I did this myself). Very patient and organized and pleased to work with beginners and more advanced players. My teaching is tailored to the specific needs of each player to build proficiency and help them meet personal goals. I focus on good tone production and technique, learning tunes and improvisation. I currently peform with the Beantown Buckaroos (western swing) and the Squeezebox Stompers (cajun/zydeco) and play occasional other bluegrass gigs.

Art is an amazing music teacher. He plays many different styles of music and tailors his lessons to your experience level and your interests. He is also incredibly flexible. During COVID quarantine times he continued lessons on Zoom. He is very responsive over phone and text. I have unusual work hours and he has always been so easy to work with when I need to change my lesson time. I used to play violin when I was younger, and then decided I wanted to learn how to play again. When we started lessons he asked what type of music I wanted to learn, whether I wanted to try learning by ear or sheet music, and he teaches me some basic music theory. He has at times had group music lessons, which is awesome. I have also gone and watched him perform with some of his various music groups, which is always fun. The bottom line really is that Art has made re-learning the violin fun and I really feel like he tailors his lessons to what works for me. I am doubtful I would have been able to make this much progress with anyone else.

Art is an outstanding player and teacher. He is patient and skilled at teaching students at all levels and in all styles of music. Art structures your lessons around what you are able to play when you arrive. He always has new things to teach but is not overwhelming and checks often to make sure you understand. He is able to approach things in a variety of ways to clarify. Art focuses on fundamentals while helping players discover the fun of playing, teaching them through the music they want to play. I highly recommend Art as a teacher.

I've had many music teachers for different instruments over the years, and Art is by far the best! I'm an adult beginner on violin, so I'm busier and learn less quickly than a kid. A lot of teachers don't have the patience for students like me! Art is incredibly patient, explains things in ways that make sense, and even puts up with my cheap, squeaky violin...I couldn't recommend him more!!
