Introduction: Teaching people that believe they have no natural ability to paint is one of my greatest passions. I specialize in those who have always dreamed of becoming a painter but had no idea how to begin and little to no confidence. If you can sign your name, I can teach you to paint! Over the years I've developed a method of teaching that allows anyone to paint. Although a strong foundation in drawing skills is something that all artist should possess, with this method I can have even the person that can't make a stick figure create their first beautiful painting, worthy of framing and displaying in no time at all.

Faith is a generous and effective art teacher. She is a kind and delightful guide. My experience in a three-day watercolor workshop with Faith was perfect. I was unstressed, challenged and inspired. Faith asked questions about my goals and knowledge before the workshop; she prepared an amazingly organized learning experience. I learned through fun exercises and a painting project about the tools of the trade and many basic and advanced techniques, such as direct painting, wet in wet, washes, using masking fluid, transferring an image to paper, color mixing, glazing, broken wash, lifting a “boo boo” with a scrubber and more. She gave exquisite attention and encouraging guidance without putting her hand on my work. She painted along side to provide examples. Faith’s artistic skills and talents are matched and then some by her generosity, kindness and hospitality. I still don’t understand how she convinced me that there are no “mistakes” and you can scrub out a “boo boo”! Faith offered an amazingly affordable way for me to explore watercolor. She also offered very affordable advice on what limited tools of the trade to purchase to continue on my own in an unlimited fashion. She was very flexible in scheduling to meet my special requests. I look forward to future classes with Faith, after I paint on my own for a while. I found the experience of water coloring and of being with Faith a very special double joy!
