Introduction: I am a freelance writer, editor, media and marketing consultant, and ghostwriter who has recently worked with publications including Consumer Reports, The Chicago Tribune, Fortune, The Mayo Clinic, Beyond Type 1, Portland Magazine, and many others. I specialize in health, finance, and environmental writing and editing and am equally comfortable working for magazines, trade publications, individual businesses, and non-profits.
My goal is to create work that's right for the client--that speaks in their voice, supports their brand, and achieves their strategic goals--whether you’re a global company looking to clarify your corporate message, a non-profit with a magazine or newsletter that needs writing, a health startup in need of blog content, or a tech company looking for an editor capable of framing complex subjects.
I am also a working author whose fiction has appeared in such national publications as Shenandoah, Epoch, The Alaska Quarterly Review, and Narrative Magazine. I was named one of Narrative magazine's 30 best writers under the age 30, and am the recipient of fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, the Sewanee Writers' Conference, and the Napa Valley Writers' Conference.
Much of my life has involved making a case for why the arts matter at a deeply fundamental level to both individuals and communities. While most of my clients are national, I’m actively seeking more writing and editing work in support of the art communities here at my local level in Maine. I grew up here and returned to Maine a few years ago to raise my daughter. This state and its arts communities matter.
