FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
After a free consultation meeting to discuss specific business needs, I draft an engagement proposal for the bookkeeping work that we discussed. My fees are based on an hourly rate or a flat monthly retainer fee, depending on your work flow and cash flow needs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I begin a relationship with a new client, I take time to really understand your needs through a free consultation meeting. I prefer to meet with potential clients in person, so we can determine if we will work well together. After our meeting, should we determine that we wish to move forward, I draft a proposal based on what we discussed at our meeting. Once we both agree on the proposed work that I will assist you with, I draft an engagement letter that provides the terms of our arrangement, so there are no hidden or undisclosed terms. I believe that every small business owner deserves the best accounting services; I really take the time up front to determine if my services are the best solution for your bookkeeping needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a CPA with more than 28 years of accounting experience. Before starting my own company, PLD Accounting, I managed the operations of a closely-held company, including accounting, payroll, human resources and benefits. I learned the needs of small business owners first hand during my eight years with the company. Prior to that I worked for ten years with a publicly traded company, as well as spending seven years in public accounting, managing small business accounting records and preparing individual income tax returns. I am a member of both the AICPA and WICPA and continue to learn through continuing educational opportunities.
