Introduction: Old fashioned work ethic and customer service! I treat my client as I'd want to be treated myself. I listen to my client's ideas and understand what they want from their portraits before I even pick up the cameras. My pricing structure is straight-forward, even when purchasing prints or other items. I do not play the "credits" or "packages" game! I keep my prices very reasonable on prints, photo books, canvases, etc. This allows each customer to get exactly what they want without being forced into a package that does not meet their needs. Most of my clients are repeat customers or come from client referrals. I attribute this to being honest, professional and responsive. I use only professional level cameras, lenses and lighting, and have a full service studio. This is important, as it demonstrates a commitment to the trade and to my customers. I am also an FAA licensed Commercial UAS (drone) Pilot, and have aerial 4K video and photographic capabilities. This is great for weddings, architectural photography, land survey and commercial applications. Note: Federal law requires that ALL commercial drone work be done by an FAA licensed pilot. I love the work I do because of the people I get to meet. I love their stories! From a creative perspective, everyone has a different idea about their portraits and what they want from them. I enjoy the challenge that comes with exceeding those expectations. I like offering my ideas and collaborating with my clients to get something different and special!

I had a wonderful experience working with Allen. I do a lot of community theatre, and while I am comfortable on stage, I have no idea what to do in front of a camera. Allen put me at ease and was incredibly personable. The review and photo selection process was so convenient. His editing and finishing skills are superb. I look like the best possible version of myself. I will definitely be going back to him when the time comes for more headshots. I am the person with red eyes and a double chin in every photo someone snaps of me but Allen was able to get so many good shots I had trouble choosing which ones I wanted printed. If he can make me look photogenic, he can do it for anyone. I highly recommend Allen for any photography services.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is based on time, but any professional photographer will want to know as much detail as possible. Are there special requirements, what equipment to bring, what lighting is required, what time is the photo shoot (for natural light photography, this is critical), how many people (more people simply takes longer), etc.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always offer a no-cost, no obligation consultation on any job. On larger or complex jobs, I prefer to meet for the consult in person. Once I understand the client needs and what the location requires in terms of equipment, I am better prepared to exceed client expectations. Once the photo session or shoot has been completed, I upload the images to a secure online gallery. After the client has chosen the poses, I professionally re-touch the images. The images are then output to meet the client's intended use (example, prints, web, 4-color process printing, etc.). I have absolutely no problem traveling to a client's location for a session or a consultation. If the client does not have a location in mind, I have many different locations for practically any need. I also have a very well equipped studio only minutes from downtown Louisville. Visa, MasterCard, AMEX accepted.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 20+ years experience in a myriad of photography genres. I am also an expert-level re-toucher and re-touch my own images. Too many workshops and other training to begin to list them. B.S. in Visual Communications, have worked as an Art Director for one of the areas largest Advertising Agencies. FAA Licensed Commercial UAS (drone) pilot.
