FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For transcriptions, I keep pricing as easy and economical as possible for my busy clients who are also focused on the bottom line. I charge $1.00 a recorded minute of the files you provide, rounded to the nearest minute. Essentially, $60/recorded hour. EXAMPLE: If the file you send me is 43:02, your invoice will be $44.00. Easy and affordable! All files 20 minutes or less are charged at my $20 minimum fee. For web/video/print projects, I believe in making quality, targeted, and compelling writing services available to a myriad of clients, no matter their budget. There is always a "win-win" price point to help a client meet their goals...and for me to make a living. I work on both hourly rates and flat rates, negotiated with the client after discussing specifics about each project. Tell me more about your project and we'll find the perfect solution for you!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, each new client engagement begins with a simple phone call where I ascertain my client's objectives, and deadlines. From there, budget is confirmed, timeline/deadline is confirmed and I begin gathering the information I need to provide the first draft for the client's review. The client provides input on desired edits or other revisions and, together, we refine the final draft into the best version with the most results-oriented appeal possible. I strive to remain extremely flexible with my clients and adapt my process to suit their comfort level as it relates to amount of communication and use of technology in reaching our collective goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over thirty years of professional experience in public relations, marketing, broadcast television, news producing, webcasting, film acting, video production and website development. I started my career as a young Navy journalist after receiving professional training in public affairs, photography, print journalism, and broadcasting. Following my military years, I successfully transitioned into a myriad of writing and production jobs in TV news, radio, webcasting, and marketing. In 2002, I started my own video production company called Impact! MediaWorks (IMWvideo.com) and continue to serve clients nationwide today. However, I also provide my expert and experienced writing skills on a freelance basis.
