Make It Home Property Management LLC
About this pro
I have been managing homes for others for approximately 4 years and in that time frame my involvement in NARPM, National Association for Residential Property Managers sets me apart from other property managers in the area. NARPM provides an environment which enables me to continue my education in property management and network/learn from some of the most successful Property Managers in the world. Property management is a career that I chose because I genuinely enjoy helping owners who don't have time or decide not to manage their property. I understand the pressure and challenges of owning investment property and I do everything possible to eliminate and/or reduce the stress for the owner. I am the Past President of our local chapter and the Treasurer of the VA State Chapter. I am currently working on my Residential Management Professional Designation with NARPM. (Independent Contractor of Keffer Realty) Property management isn't rocket science but it does take a special type of person to be successful in this industry. What I enjoy the most about my career is the fact that I get to help people with one of the most important decisions in their life- finding a home. Whether it is renting or buying, everyone needs a place to live. Property management and real estate sales provide the solution to the problem.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a Real Estate Broker and Property Manager. I hold a BA degree from James Madison University. I am a current and active member of NARPM-National Association of Residential Property Managers. I attend industry conferences and educational course every year to maintain my license and stay abreast of the changes in the industry.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I started in this industry managing property for family members in addition to my full-time job. I learned that my professional training in customer service and conflict resolution proved to be successful in working through issues with both owners and tenants. The favorable experiences lead to referrals from owners and tenants. Those referrals were the beginning of my career in property management.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I have a very diverse clientele. I work with owners and tenants from all walks of life. Many of my owners are military or retired military while others are civilian. Some of my clients are local, however, the majority reside outside of the area. My tenants are just as diverse as my clients. The most important aspect of the relationship is that we are a good fit. Not all personalities work well together and it isn't in anyone's best interest to force a relationship that creates stress and discontentment.
