Jim from Caliber Carpentry provided outstanding service for a custom piece that most people would probably laugh at. I'm moving to a very small apartment, but I have a cat. So I was looking for someone to make me a litter box cover to eliminate the site of my kitty's litter box. Jim communicated very well, made recommendations for the project according to what he thought was best, and completed the project in a super quick turnaround. He had an appointment over near my apartment, so he even offered to drop the box off for me. It was constructed very nicely, sanded and ready for me to paint (if I want to later). I hope to add a pic once I get settled in my new place. It's going to make living with little square footage and a cat much easier. I would highly recommend Jim, and definitely will if anyone is looking for custom carpentry. If he took such great care constructing my silly, simple kitty box, I can't even imagine how he'd handle larger and more "serious" requests. Thanks Jim!

Jim was prompt, courteous and friendly. He is a consummate professional and meticulous with his work. We hired Jim to do some finish carpentry work and baluster installation. He showed great attention to detail and went above and beyond the estimated hours, but still honored his price. I would highly recommend Jim.

My wife and I hired Caliber Carpentry/Jim Rangel to mount a flat screen television, shelving, hang wall decor, and replace light fixtures. He was on time and very easy to work with. We plan on hiring him again in the future for additional home projects.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The more work you give me the lower I can go on my prices.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer a face to face meeting to get a feel of the project at hand and what exactly the customer's needs and wants are. Discuss options, cost and timing. Then follow up after job is done.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am formally trained through the Carpenter's union apprenticeship program and by non union master carpenters in the field. I have 20 years experience altogether.
