I first went to a Sunday group class to meet Dennis and see if I felt confident and comfortable enough to try taking lessons. I had been dancing socially for about 2 years and finally decided if I was ever going to get past beginner/early intermediate I needed professional help to move forward. I quickly found Dennis was just the man to do that and scheduled my first private lesson. Dennis quickly assessed my strengths and weaknesses and we went right to work, attacking the problems he discovered. His approach is clear and focused on the basics of partner connection and being able to dance with any lead, any time. His styling tips are not just “pretty” but rather functional, to help maintain connection and use the counts fully. I have been working privately and in group lessons with Dennis for 9 months at this writing and he is now working closely with my teenaged daughter as well. In this time we have met many instructors and studios while dancing socially and they all ask us where we have learned to dance. We tell them Dennis PaSamba and they all say something similar, "ahh.. Dennis is great". If you just want a few tips and ideas as an advanced dancer or if you are a complete beginner that is looking for a supportive teacher, you cannot go wrong with Dennis.

I started taking salsa with Dennis, first just coming with a friend to a series of private lessons and then taking regular group salsa lessons with Dennis and continue to do so. That being said, I got addicted to his energetic lessons and started with ballroom and Tango and now to Zouk with visits to all the other forms. What I like about Dennis's programs is that he is one of the few real artists giving lessons in Chicago. He regularly travels to expose himself to what is new and different and to push himself to improve his skills. That love for dance and creativity keep it interesting no matter what dance form I'm studying under him, whether they be group or private.

Dennis is an outstanding dancer and great teacher. As beginner I was a bit intimidated at first, I thought I could never keep up with his pace…well…I’m so glad I gave it a try. I’m taking both, private and group classes now, it is challenging I have to say but this is the beauty of it, I leave every session enriched and confident. He his truly committed to bring his students skills up high with an impeccable and constant teaching method. I am learning so much, styling, footwork, body movements, mechanics and self-confidence, every minute and dollar spent with him is absolutely worth. He is through the roof talented, dedicated, approachable, patient and super creative. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Go Dennis! And Thank you.

Dennis is an awesome instructor. He teaches you how to dance rather than memorizing steps. He has taught me many different dances and because of his teaching style it is easier to learn new ones. He points out similarities and differences so your dancing knowledge can be applied to different dances. He is the best.

I have been dancing with Dennis for 4 months now. Every single time I go out people are asking me "Where do you learn?", "How are you so great?", "How do you follow so good?" all I can say is Dennis Pasamba. That's it. He's the best though. Sweet and super fun. Love you tons, thank you:)
