Introduction: Hello and thanks for stopping by! My name is Liz, and I started officiating weddings over 5 years ago to provide a safe space for all couples, regardless of how they identify, to have beautifully written ceremonies. We are now a group nondenominational ministers from all walks of life, and we promote all types of love. We LOVE to personalize weddings! We will spend all the time necessary to make your day the best day it can be! We typically meet with couples over dinner, beer, coffee, or whatever is preferred at minimum 2-4 times to really know you both. At heart, we are all writers, and we love to discover the stories behind couples and intertwine them into their ceremonies. I cannot recommend Liz Rae Wedding enough!!! Liz has exceeded all expectation and was an influential presence through the entire wedding ceremony process. It was very important for my husband and I to feel 100% accepted and comfortable with whoever married us. After looking through a few different vendors, I stumbled upon Liz's site and loved everything I saw. She is polite, nonjudgmental, silly and smart. I immediately reached out and so began the year and a half journey to write a completely customized and heartfelt wedding script. Although the ceremony was only 30 minutes, Liz and I spent countless hours meticulously editing and adjusting until it was perfect. The contract, payment and editing processes are all completed online and everything was organized and convenient. I never once felt Liz was tight for time or giving any less than her best. Not only is Liz a gifted writer, she is professional, reliable and a beautiful soul who loves love. My husband and I are so proud to have been married by Liz and will continue to recommend her services. When we were looking for officiants we knew two things for sure, we wanted a non-religious ceremony and our families were multi-cultural with many different aspects. We found Liz Rae Weddings and began talking with Liz. We immediately felt like we were in good hands. What I loved about the whole process was how much we were involved with Liz's ceremony writing. Her attention to detail was superb and the ceremony was written so uniquely to us. Not only that, she even spoke Spanish for certain parts of our ceremony for my husband's family! She works with you to make a ceremony that you will cherish forever. The day of went beautifully and Liz was there to help with everything, even more than what an officiant's "duties" called for. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for a special and unique experience that makes you feel cared for and important!

Liz was our officiant for our LGBT wedding. My wife, Katie-Rose, and I were so nervous to find an officiant that was not only comfortable marrying us but also made us feel at ease. Liz was this and MORE! Liz's personalized ceremony told our love story in the best way possible. I could not image it being told differently. Liz collaborated with us on what we wanted in our ceremony as well as got to know us personally so that our ceremony felt like it was US not just about us. Liz frequently checked in with us throughout the wedding planning and offered great advice as neither my wife or I are the greatest planners. Liz went above and beyond and if I could rave about her more I would. We are so happy to have Liz as a part of our wedding tale. I HIGHLY recommend her! Thanks again Liz

My husband and I are both very traditional people. The problem was that we're traditional people from different religions. Liz created the perfect ceremony that told our story, felt sentimental but kept the formality and familiarity of a Jewish or Catholic wedding. I was worried that my traditional Catholic family would turn their nose at our ceremony for not being in a church or exactly the way they felt it should be done but Liz helped us blend our families seamlessly. I've received countless compliments on the ceremony. Liz took so much time and effort into our ceremony but she made it seem completely effortless. Our ceremony was simply beautiful and we have Liz to thank for that. She went completely above and beyond (including a trip to Target for "break the glass" supplies!) If I could give Liz a 10 star rating, I would! She was absolutely fantastic to work with and always responded to emails within an hour or two. She completely customized our wedding to tell OUR love story. She showed up early to help set up and offered to stay until everything was cleaned up! She always sent emails or hand written cards (how awesome is that?!) to let us know she was looking forward to our big day. We even received multiple compliments from some of our wedding guests as to how professional, kind, helpful and what a total sweetheart she was overall. Highly, highly recommend her! What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We have two different packages. The main difference between the packages is the rehearsal date, and not every couple really needs us at the rehearsal. Our prices are higher than average, and this is because we dedicate a significant amount of time with the couple in person and through our writing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We first meet with couples in person or through call/digital means to first make sure we are a good match! Afterwards, once the couple has booked us, we like to meet at least once more to dive deeper into the couple's relationship. From there, we work off a Google Doc to share the ceremony with the couple as we are writing so they can make comments as well and schedule more meetings going forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of us come from a background in writing, so writing ceremonies happens to come naturally! Outside of ceremonies, many of us are working on our own projects, such as writing books or articles for websites.
