Andrew Groble
Introduction: I have been tutoring since high school, when I tutored students in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Chemistry. Since then, I have tutored for four years at the college level in both German and Music Theory/Aural Skills, and have tutoring test prep for the past 2 years. I have also twice co-taught an intensive one-month long German 101 course, where I designed the lesson plans, and graded homework, quizzes and tests. I am a great tutor because of my broad experience in tutoring many different subjects, so that I have a wide variety of approaches to help all types of students master the material. I also believe that, in my German tutoring especially, I'm very systematic, so that my students have a strong grammar foundation on which to build further skills and concepts. I have also lived in Germany for a year, and am able to bring world-life experiences into tutoring sessions, so that I can instill in my students a desire to learn more of the German language through a glimpse of what is possible once one has a basis in the language. I also have taken German Diction classes because of my background in vocal performance, and this means that I am especially adept at dealing with difficulties in pronunciation, or when students are having trouble hearing the difference between those pesky umlauts!
I enjoy working with students to meet their educational and learning goals, whether those are academic or for the joy of exploring another language.

I worked with Andrew many times during the 2016-17 school year to prepare for my ACT test. Andrew was a great help and I would certainly recommend him to future students! Not only is Andrew extremely knowledgeable, he is also great at explaining and clarifying even the most complex theories and problems. He always made our tutoring sessions engaging and worthwhile, and was always able to help me out. Andrew is a great tutor and extremely enjoyable to work with!

Despite being my first time trying to work with a tutor, I truly enjoyed the time I spent working with Andrew. I am glad I was able to work with such an amazing, intelligent, and overall great person that is Andrew. From not only telling me what the correct answers were, Andrew was also able to explain to me why the correct answers were what they were and how to learn from my personal mistakes. All in all, I do not regret having tried such a program as it not only improved my test taking skills, but also my overall understanding in various areas of academics. I am truly greatful to Andrew and VarsityTutors for this opportunity.

Andrew is a great tutor for many reasons! He explains every questiong, he offers different study habits, and he forms a relationship with his student! Andrew helped me raise my ACT score 3 points in just 2 months! Could not be happier that Andrew was my tutor!!

My tutor Andrew was a great inspiration to me and externally helpful in all departments of English, Math, and Science. He was able to bump my previous 16 score on the English act section to a 22. That is an 8 point difference
