Introduction: I have a passion for helping clients discover and cultivate their own unique style, and work with them to create a sustainable wardrobe that reflects their values. My background as a theatrical costume designer has made me especially aware of the social impact of dress and how others perceive individual clothing choices. I really enjoyed working with Janice - she really taught me a lot! I learned the best way for me to wear pants for my body, how to sew on a button, and what sizing I should be looking for in dress shirts. She also turned me on to a brand of clothing that works fantastically for my body and is also a really great value.

Janice has a great eye and sense for an individual person’s style. Her suggestions of what I should add to my wardrobe were a reflection of MY style and not someone else’s. She helped me put together a couple of new outfits from the clothes I already had and the few pieces I’ve added have made a big impact on how I feel about my wardrobe - from “I don’t have anything to wear” to “not enough days in the week for all my outfits”. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer several personal styling packages which range in price from $200 to $650, and offer a substantial savings over hourly work. My hourly rate is $75.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to begin with a 20 min phone consultation to discuss my services and my client's wardrobe goals. I like to get to know customers, and a closet audit is the best way to do that-it allows me to see their current relationship with their wardrobe.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a MFA in costume design from Northwestern University. That degree includes in depth study of the social impact of dress historically and in contemporary culture, in addition to classic design training, and garment construction.
