As a trained journalist, skilled writer and experienced marketer, my strength is putting into words & images what is best about your company. One of the ideas that guides my work is that your audience should find value in your content, whether that be entertainment or information. If all you're doing on your website or social media accounts is tooting your own horn, people are going to stop listening. So I strive to create content that doesn't just highlight your business, but endears your company to your followers through humor, personal connections and expert knowledge. I've worked with clients in a wide range of industries from dentistry to law to fashion, so I'm experienced in jumping into any niche and making it my own. My claim to fame is an article I wrote a couple of years ago about why I don't consider myself to be a Millennial. It's called "The Oregon Trail Generation" and was shared upwards of a million times, republished on The Huffington Post, Mashable, Pop Sugar and more. It even has it's own Wikipedia page now, where you can find my name. I never intended or imagined that the article would become so popular, but it just goes to show what can happen when you put your passion behind something that's meaningful to you. I also love making professional marketing services accessible to entrepreneurs who may not think they can afford them - my rates are intentionally well below the competition because I enjoy working with "mom & pop" businesses that aren't able to pay $1000 (or more!) per month for essential services like social media, blogging and website design. But perhaps what I love most of all is seeing my work positively impact a client's business or personal project. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?The prices for my services are listed on my website - a few set monthly packages as well as some ala carte services. However, if your needs differ from what you see on my site, please get in touch and I can put together a custom package for you. My low rates do not reflect a lack of quality, but rather a desire to work with small "mom & pop" businesses that have small marketing budgets. My goal is to make professional marketing services accessible to all small business owners who are interested in boosting their online presence. I offer a referral program to current clients - if you refer me to someone you know and they end up hiring me, you each get $100 off your next service or month.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I prefer to have at least one phone conversation or in-person meeting to learn more about your business, goals and expectations. After that, I send a very simple statement of work and intake questionnaire that allows you to provide more info about your company, your customers and what you'd like to accomplish together.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a BA in journalism, a Masters of Arts in teaching and 4 years' experience doing online marketing for clients in a wide variety of fields. Additionally, I launched my own ecommerce company over a year ago, which I run entirely on my own. For that company, I did everything from creating the website to sourcing products overseas to package copy and design to interacting with customers.
