Better Behavior Dog Training
About this pro
Stephanie's heart is in the right place. She was very good with Maxie. However, be ready to have cancelations/ or very late, or no response to emails. Needs to work on her organizational skills. We had discussed last Wednesday to meet. I sent two emails and didn't hear back until Wednesday that she wasn't available. Asked for the following Wednesday and didn't receive a response to two email request. Found an email at 6:30 pm to see if 7:30 pm was ok to come for the session. At this point I am so frustrated I have cancelled finalizing the last month sessions to train us on what Maxie had been taught.Jun 7, 2018Verified
After just a few sessions my Dominic has changed enough that it is noticeable to everyone he meets. He is not nearly as frightened and insecure as he had been. My sister-in-law commented that his behavior has changed so much it is like he is a totally different dog, happy and friendly like a new little puppy. He no longer snaps at other family dogs when they are present. I look forward to his continued training. Stephanie has been on top of his behavior every step of the way. She has been very accommodating and professional with scheduling time for him. Even though this is early on in his training she has made quite a difference!May 4, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I offer a very customized and very exclusive services that have proved to be unbelievably successful results in a fraction of the time. I’m also one of very few in the country and I believe the only one in the Chicagoland and surrounding suburbs. I also only offer packages which are each customized based on the dog’s behavior issues, history, and the clients goals. After I’ve done the initial consultation and gotten the details I need, I put together a detailed proposal for the training plan for my clients to review before committing. This sets everyone up for success: the clients, the dogs, and my own personal satisfaction and confidence that we’ll achieve the goals. Each package includes a free in home consultation, 2-4 follow ups after the training is completed to make sure it sticks, and lifetime phone and email support at no additional charge. I want to make sure that the new behavior sticks and that my clients have support long term.

- How did you get started doing this type of work?I started fostering pit bulls and pit bull mixes in my early 20s, and the first dog I ever fostered was extremely dog and human aggressive. I had never owned or even known a dog with these kinds of issues, and I felt totally alone and anxious all the time. I couldn’t take him for a walk or have a new person over without extreme fear and anxiety that something wouldn’t happen. I was given no support from the rescue I was fostering him for. I started studying dog behavior and training on my own. I found it incredibly fascinating, so I began taking courses and buying every textbook and reference manual written for professional trainers that I could for my own enjoyment. I ended up taking in all of the dogs with these kinds of behavioral issues and rehabilitated them to prepare them for adoption.
