FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer much of my service for free to my clients. Both the in-home consultation as well as the initial presentation and the work accompanying selections for presentation are offered free of charge. When selections are made by the client and the process of ordering and acquiring the furnishing elements begins I work at a fixed rate of $200 for dining room, living room, and bedroom projects and a fixed rate of $300 for kitchen and bath redesign involving plumbing/appliance reconfiguration. Home organization services are always offered at an hourly rate of $25 per hour. I also love to do holiday and event decorating for the same $25 hourly rate and I dabble in floral arranging as well, so I am always looking for ways to incorporate this element into my design plans. You can check out my Instagram @objectpermanenceint for examples of some arrangements done in the recent past as well as updates on current projects.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with an in-home consultation where I take photographs of the space, do some rough sketches of the architectural elements, and work up a plan for all the desired elements. I also take this time to do an in-depth design interview with the client. What elements do you love, what design choices would you hate to see, and the like to make sure I can answer the demands of the room and the family. After some time pulling together all of the elements for the home I do a presentation of those selections, typically in-home again, but I also love to do online presentations for those with more demanding schedules. Throughout the process I am in touch with clients, letting them know how my work is progressing and keeping them updated on all the nuts and bolts after selections are made. Follow up services are always available as well!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked for more than half a decade in the visual display art world. In 2014, I founded my interior design company and had been working in connection with a local Nashville furnishings staple for two years as their in-home designer before venturing out on my own. I have attended training courses at a design institute in the Nashville area as well. At the beginning of 2016, I decided to pursue design opportunities in the Cincinnati area as well, beginning with a full overhaul of a bungalow in the Fort Thomas area in February of 2016. Photos of my current and past work are available for viewing here.
