Above the Horizon services

Introduction: Above the Horizon Services is a private practice made up of professionals with mental health, life coaching and behavioral health expertise. We aim to address the needs of our clients using a client-centered approach and strength-based practices. We are committed to working with clients from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We are also supportive to issues experienced through life circumstances and individual orientations. We provide varying mental health services and professional life coaching. Some mental health issues that we treat are depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral issues in school or the home, relational issues, social skills building, hyperactivity, attention deficits, and mood disorders...to name a few. We will work with you to develop a plan for achieving your goals or the goals you have for your childrenp/ adolescents/ family. Our motto is YOUR ONLY LIMIT IS YOU. Chrystal Bright, M.Ed., LPCC-S Owner, Director and Supervising Professional Clinical Counselor Chrystal is a Supervisory Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio who has worked with children, adolescents, and families since 2000. A Cincinnati native who attended Ohio University in Athens, OH, Chrystal earned her Bachelor's of Arts degree in Psychology with a concentration in Community Health. She continued her studies at Ohio University for graduate school, where she earned a Master's of Education degree in Community and Agency Counseling. Over the past 16 years, Chrystal has worked in a variety of child-serving mental health agencies and programs including the following: day treatment programs, home- and community-based programs, groups (teen, summer programming, mixed gender, girls groups), traditional agency-based outpatient, victims of sexual abuse outpatient treatment and groups, and community psychiatric supportive treatment. Chrystal was also a care coordinator for a managed care entity where she served as an advocate and liaison on treatment teams designed to determine treatment needs for clients and facilitate those connections to services. She has specific training in Parent-Child Interaction Treatment (PCIT), trauma-informed care, and working with military veterans and their families. She considers herself a client-centered therapist who utilizes a variety of techniques and approaches to best serve her clientele. Her expertise is working with youth who are struggling with behavioral issues, depressive symptoms, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, adjustment issues, and parent-child or other relational problems. She is looking forward to building relationships with these young people to assist them in attaining their goals. She has served as a mentor and supervisor to graduate level Counselor Trainees and current Licensed Professional Counselors who are working to earn their independent licensure, which she enjoys. She currently has 3 Master's level Counselor Trainees completing their field placements under her throughout 2016.
