About this pro
I will start off saying that the majority of the flooring looks incredible, and I am very happy with the product and placement. I was also grateful that they were able to fit me in as quickly as they did to get the job completed. Besides those positives, there were some things I felt should be shared with prospective clients. When the project began, the crew found rotten particle board in the entry way and I gave consent for them handle the repairs and continue with the job. I asked for pictures to be taken throughout the process, so I could have peace of mind about the repairs, which were not provided. The repair was handled poorly, and when I addressed my concerns with the owner of the company, he was unwilling to repair the work. He spoke quite condescendingly to me, and I was shocked by his lack of professionalism. I sent him pictures and video footage of the doorway where the "repairs" had been done to show him why I felt like it wasn't completed in an acceptable manner. The floor bows under weight and feels unstable, and you can actually see the laminate panels flexing when you walk on them. The transition piece is also not tacked down at all, and has worked its way out of the doorjamb. He told me that if I wanted to put vapor barrier or something else underneath the laminate that would fix the problem. I do not understand why they didn't just level the floor and repair it correctly the first time, especially if he had such a simple solution to offer me. Now if I want an entryway that feels as stable as the rest of the floor throughout the house, I have to pull up his flooring and re-do the repairs, and replace the flooring. I am also mildly concerned that these laminate boards are not designed with the expectation of constantly flexing, which might shorten the life of the floor in that area. (I realize this is purely speculation, but it doesn't seem implausible.) I was also disappointed because the crew did sloppy work and damaged my walls. I had the home's interior painted on Sunday, and after the flooring crew left on Tuesday, I found gouges and marks and smudges on every wall, so now I have to touch up the paint in every room of my house that they worked in. My final complaint was that they did not clean up after themselves. When I hire a "professional" crew to come out and do work for me, I expect them to leave the place in a good, clean, presentable manner. I don't feel like I should have to go behind them and vacuum up scrap wood, and sweep/mop all the floors to clean up their debris. I don't personally feel like this is an unreasonable request- to return home to a clean place, but this was my first time having flooring installed, so maybe this is normal. I don't like to post negative reviews, but I chose to hire this team because they had all 5-star ratings, and I don't want others to be misled and go through the same thing I did. I would not hire this company again, and I felt like reporting out honestly about my experience was the right thing to do.May 10, 2018VerifiedIrakli K.'s reply
Thank you for your “honest” review. We provided flooring which is a floating laminate, came out last minute, got the job done, repaired a hole in a rotten subfloor, didn’t get paid a penny for it, which was unforeseen due to some demolition that needed to be done prior. Also prior to D&I stepping in, they were working there all weekend, illegally removing pop corn ceiling that contains asbestos in it. Besides that, house was already beyond dirty. This whole story started with Brandy, not wanting to pay extra 300$ for the subfloor repair. She asked to do a job in one day, our crew spent 13 hours working, in over 50 year old house with uneven subfloor and etc. floppiness that Brandy talks about is aftermath of uneven subfloors, that’s what happens when you have a floating floor . No payments were made, and yet you come out and still write us a review like that? Our 5 Star reviews all across in every trade are earned and speak for us.
A great experience. They quickly came out to provide an estimate to install our engineered wood flooring, and finished the job quickly and professionally. I would definitely recommend them for your flooring project.May 5, 2018VerifiedIrakli K.'s reply
