Jim and his team were amazing! We contacted Jim to request a quote for a new front porch to cover an old concrete stoop that we had been wanting to tear out for years. Jim called right away and within a day or two, he came out to give us a quote. We had an idea of what we wanted, but Jim discussed some changes/additions to our thoughts to make it look better on the front of our house & he provided a quote on the spot. It was right within market value. We were very impressed by his knowledge and punctuality. He got us on his schedule so quickly, which is part of the reason we chose him. His crew showed up on time, worked so quickly, and the quality of our porch is incredible. They built exactly what we discussed & he charged me exactly what he said at the quote. We are so happy with our new front porch, it changed the entire look of our house!

Should we call this backyard oasis dream come true!?! We’ve been wanting to build a screened porch + deck for a long time, due to pandemic and triangle housing market booming it was hard to find a reliable contractor to do the job, everyone else seemed to just care about getting the job done as fast as they can. Then I found Jim on thumbtack and read all the reviews then contacted him. He was very passionate about building and responded quickly and came with an initial quote. We were pretty picky and had lots of questions about the design we wanted to achieve and Jim was very patient in answering every one of them. He revised the proposal to our liking to every single detail and even happily upgraded the posts from 4X6 to 6X6 per my request at no extra cost. We then requested to do an even bigger porch with an extra door and stairs and his new quote did not scare us away. It is great he also took care of all the permits. Our communication was smooth, work started on time and all his crew members were courteous and organized, they always put their ladders and tools aside together cleanly after finishing so no one stepped on stuff randomly. After a few weeks the finished space looked amazing, and there were a few cosmetic issues I raised to him and his crew took care of them promptly. Jim checked with me every step to make sure I’m happy so everything is now perfection under my super picky eyes. We can finally utilize our backyard space a lot more without being bothered by all the mosquitoes! We are very satisfied to have found Jim, in this busy housing market that one actually cares about quality of work and goes extra miles to make customers happy! Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for carpentry work done!

I really need to see the project in order to give an exact price. My rate ranges from $20 to $40 per hour depending on the complexity of the work.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with them to see what they are looking to do. Then I give them additional ideas if requested. I alway want to have a clear process of what will be the steps I will follow to completing the work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 30 years experience in construction and have my construction supervisor license.
