FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by getting to know each person on a personal level. I want to know their habits and interests, and how these relate to their goals. And once those goals are voiced, I like to take the time to develop an action plan. It is important to be realistic in achieving any such goal.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began my education in holistic nutrition and continued it further into sport nutrition before completing my education in personal training and yoga.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started in fitness in high school. At the time, my life was entirely controlled by my eating disorder. I joined the cross country team and took weight lifting as an elective. Even though I was running to lose weight not to win races, I was hooked on weight lifting. Twelve years of self torture later I began my recovery from anorexia. Fitness stuck! I know very personally what it feels like to take self loathing into the shower, in to the fitting rooms, the gym, etc. And I feel such compassion for anyone who suffers from self criticism of any kind. My true passion in life is to help others, and I feel that my personal struggles give me a unique ability to accomplish this goal.
