It was the Adventures of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defore. Then I wrote a book report about it and I've been putting words to paper ever since. Over 2,000,000 words and counting. Some in academic journals. A lot on the web. Occasionally long form. I'm a natural born wordsmith. When I was 19 I began fiddling around with HTML pages and taught myself how to code when I started my first business at 25. Coding is actually a lot like writing, except the computer does the grammar correction for you automatically. I take pride in it the same way I do with the written word. I like doing useful things that help people go from point A to point B. If I'm doing that then I'm having a good time.

Working with Jonathan was a pleasure and I'd definitely do it again. His editorial work for me was spot on and the quality of my work improved 5X after he was done with his revisions. He was always thorough, but still gentle and constructive in his advice and he didn't stop until the work was fantastic. I was nervous about writing for an audience that wasn't from my home country but Jonathan allowed my prose to come off as natural and articulate even though I was writing in a second language. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard hourly rate for a project is $20/hour, but this varies depending on the type of work involved. If it's more manual/rote labor it'll go down. If it's more skilled then it'll go up. I'm willing to customize each project but these are some basic guidelines we can go by: Writing/Editing - $20/hour. Simple 1-5 page website: $250; Copywriting + $100 Simple 6-10 page website: $400; Copywriting + $150 Custom Work: $30/hour
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'll first ask you to describe in your own words what it is you're looking for with the project. From that I'll create my own outline for the project that I'll have you approve to make sure we're getting off on the right foot. If we're doing web design the first step is a wireframe to make sure I'm properly visualizing your project. After you give your thumbs up there'll be a first draft of the work which you're free to give feedback on any way you'd like. After that initial critique there will be two additional revisions to make sure the job is done to your satisfaction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing a combination of writing, coding, and developing almost 40 hours a week for the last four years. Some of it for friends and family, but much of it for myself in my own business.
