- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the hospitality industry since my first job as a dishwasher and prep cook at 15. I went to culinary school (Indiana University of Pennsylvania Academy of Culinary Arts) at 25. I have been a dishwasher, prep cook, line cook, fry cook, pastry chef, waitress, bartender- you name it!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been fascinated with cooking since I was very young. After much pestering my grandmother finally let me help bake my birthday cake when I turned 8. I was hooked! My mother put me in charge of making dinner 2 nights a week when I was 12 and my dad & stepmom encouraged me to come up with ideas for make ahead meals for busy nights during the school year.
