FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Sunny Dogs always offers a consultation to dog owners seeking in-home services, and the consultation is free with the purchase of a training package ($60 consultation charge without purchase of package). During the consultation, it is important for us to meet the owner and the dog, determine what the dog needs and what the owner's goals are for the dog, and to plan a step-by-step program so we can achieve those goals, whether they be for obedience, problem solving, or serious behavior modification. Following is our pricing chart for in-home training services: Pricing: All consultations, lessons or multi-week packages must be pre-paid in full by the start of the first lesson. Cash, checks and all major credit cards are accepted. ____ Puppy “Right Start” Consultation $135 ____ Initial Consultation (*free w/ purchase of pkg) *$60 ____ Individual Hourly Sessions $70 ____ Obedience – Basic (5 one-hr visits) $300 ____ Obedience – Advanced (10 one-hr visits) $550 ____ Behavior Modification - 5-Pack $375 ____ Behavior Modification – 10-Pack $700 ____ Fears, Anxieties and/or Aggression - 10-Pack $850 * Sessions deemed outside the local service area may result in an additional “outside service area fee”. * You may earn a FREE individual training session with a qualified referral to Sunny Dogs. Let us build a relationship together for the greater good of your dog!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Sunny Dogs likes to meet with all customers prior to any exchange of fees. In our initial consultation, we will evaluate the dog's behavior, discuss areas in which the potential customer wishes the dog to improve, describe our training process and how we will help, and schedule a time to begin.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Kristen Askey is a graduate of Animal Behavior College and has been training dogs for over 10 years. Kristen has accrued an estimated 10,000 hours of working with dogs for basic obedience, problem solving, and behavior modification. Kristen is an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and has mentored approximately 20 dog-training students in their externship hours as they worked to achieve their dog training certificates.
