Private Tutoring and Piano

Introduction: My qualifications include: - BA in elementary education and a minor in teaching English language learners (graduating in a year). - 3. 8 GPA currently at Brigham Young University - I have over 3 years of experience tutoring in reading, writing, and math in the elementary grades. -I have taught and subbed in grades k-6. -I specialize in helping students in areas in literacy. My services include a free assessment of your children's literacy strengths and weaknesses. -I have over 20 assessments that I choose from to identify exactly what areas your child needs to work on to help them be more successful ( assessments pinpoint proficiency in reading, writing, phonics, phonemic awareness, comprehension, etc.). From those assessments, I personally tailor my teaching to fit their needs. - I also was a TA (professor's assistant) and worked with college students and tutored them on concepts they didn't grasp in class - I had a private piano studio from Fall 2012 to Summer 2013. I take great pride in the ability to help children become more confident in themselves! I love seeing the lightbulb click in their heads once they finally understand a topic. I feel my work is crucial because elementary education is a foundation for the rest of their schooling. Having a good start will ensure success later on in life. - I am experienced in child development so I set up my tutoring sessions to fit within the child's attention span. I like to do interval tutoring that way your child doesn't feel too overwhelmed and give up.
