FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Prior to coming in to see me, I will send you my paperwork to fill out. I ask that you keep a food journal for me for a couple of days, both during the week and on the weekend. The initial meeting is 90 minutes, and can be done in person or over the phone/facetime. After that, we meet for 30 minutes each time, depending on which package you've purchased. I offer packages with 3, 5 or 10 follow-up sessions. If you are local, my packages also include a metabolic test, that will tell you exactly how your metabolism in functioning, allowing me to fine tune your meal plan.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a 4 year degree from CSU Long Beach in Nutrition, with a minor in Chemistry. I am currently in school to become a Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist, because it's never all about the food. Having the ability to look inside the body at what is going on helps tremendously with what's going on on the outside.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My love for nutrition began when my first child was born. She had "tummy troubles" from day one, and when she was four started failing to thrive. I began reading and researching and was able to fix her using nutrition, after medical doctors couldn't find anything wrong with her. It turned out she was born with a tremendous amount of food sensitivities. This was 23 years ago, when gluten free was still a foreign language. I was in awe with how powerful the right nutrition can be, and went back to school when my daughter was 8 to get my degree. The rest is history :)
