FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For my handyman work I use an itemized system. Its a fixed price you show me the tasks and from experience I can calculate labor and materials for each task. I will give you a price for all the items which includes materials. For contracting I get bids from each sub and calculate materials and the parts I will do and put the numbers together for an overall price of the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First step is to speak on the phone discuss the project and set up an on site inspection. At the inspection I will take pictures and measurements necessary for bidding. If the job is large it may take a couple days to complete a bid. If the job is small I can give a bid on the spot. Once the price is established and a deal is made I set up a start date and a work schedule that works for the customer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 20 years in the construction field. I have been a framer, a finish carpenter and a handyman. I have a lot of hands on experience in many fields doing remolding. I have also been a superintendent giving me experience dealing with subcontractors. I have made a lot of contacts over the years in contracting. The subcontractors I use are true professionals and affordable. I am a licensed contractor in both Nebraska and Iowa. I am bonded and insured.
