Voice Lessons with Montana Rose
About this pro
Took lessons for a few months and got into the musical at school! I've never performed before, so it was an awesome feeling. They're good lessons for beginners. She's really patient and knows alot about musicals. Awesome for the price. I had to stop because of school and stuff, but she really helped alot. Hopefully I can go back soon!Apr 26, 2017

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge $200 per month for one 1-hour lesson per week*. I also offer half-hour prices upon request, but I personally prefer hour-long lessons. It's difficult to do everything that needs to be done within 30 minutes. Once you're finished with the proper warm-ups, it's already almost half over, and I hate not being able to get to the fun part of actually singing the songs! However, I do understand that time or money can factor in and make things difficult. If you're interested in half-hour prices, please let me know and we can hopefully make it work! *Prices based on a 4-week month. May vary on the occasion of a 5-week month.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I'll usually start by getting to know the student a little (cheesy, I know). Singing lessons aren't like math lessons or reading lessons or even other instruments. It is really common for new students to be super nervous when they first get asked to sing, so I make a huge effort to make them as comfortable with me and with their abilities as possible. Don't get me wrong, I will tell you if you do something wrong. You wouldn't be paying me, otherwise. But I try to never, ever make a student feel bad about their mistakes. Better to make them during practice than to make them during a performance!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been performing since I was in third grade (I am now 22). I have been in over twenty different musical theater performances, straight plays, show choir performances, pop rock cover bands, talent shows, etc. and have built up quite a lot of experience over the years. When I started high school, I began taking voice lessons myself, and have escalated from there. Since then, I have attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Hollywood and Citrus College in Glendora, both of which have exceptional performing arts programs for budding music and/or theater majors. I have worked with some incredible professors, including a speech coach who has worked with Anthony Hopkins, a regular musical director at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont and director of the Citrus Singers, and Vickie Lewis (Deb and Flo, "Finding Nemo" and Beth, "NewsRadio"). I have been cultivating my voice for years, and would love now to help you do the same!
