We work efficiently to provide a thoughtful solution to your needs and work to provide the best design to fit your goals and budget.
Frank J Murphy Architect, Inc. has no "signature style." We do not dictate stylistic principles or rely on any fixed rules. We believe architecture to be a process that is developed through the partnership of client and architect.
Our primary goal is to understand the client’s objectives and concerns, and to discover the underlying issues which will impact the design. Through this blend of talent and personality, the process is defined, developed & nurtured.
The culmination is a design aesthetic that provides a safe environment, with harmony, integrity and sustainability, that is compatible with its surroundings
and serves its intended functions.

Frank was one of the first to respond to my request on Thumbtack. He made an appointment, showed up on time and was very pleasant and professional. He answered all of my questions and left with the promise of being in touch after speaking with some people about zoning etc. THAT'S WHERE THE PROFESSIONALISM ENDED.
I never heard from him. I called/messaged him a few days later and he said he would have an answer ,"hopefully Monday". Well, Monday came and went and that was it. Never got back to me despite more phone calls and messages from me.
When he came to my house on the day of our first and only appointment he said, "I don't make a living off of jobs like these (small home additions) but hope they will bring recommendations to others." I appreciated his honesty in the moment but now realize that his heart wasn't into the job in the first place, that I was too poor of a customer to be worth anything more than a few recommendations. If he wasn't interested in the job, if it was more trouble than it was worth, I wish he would have told me so I could have called someone else. Now I am stuck in a bad place with a loan pending the questions he was supposed to have answered for me. The loan will expire shortly and doesn't give me much time to contact someone else and I've already spent a non-refundable $425 on the home appraisal.
While looking online for another number to call him I stumbled across a review on the BBB. Someone had a very similar issue but ended up losing a lot more money than me when Frank cut the communication lines.
If Frank is sick, in the hospital or has some other true excuse for not calling me back I will take this post down as soon as I find out. Otherwise, here it will remain. I hate leaving negative reviews! But what choice do I have?

We are in the preliminary stage of planning our renovation but our experience with Frank has thus far been very favorable. Frank is extremely professional and responsive and we look forward to working with him and previewing his design for our project.
