Introduction: I have been teaching piano lessons for the past 10 years. I have a degree in music education with an emphasis in piano. I have been teaching in a public high school in Montgomery county, MD for the past 5 years, so I have experience teaching group lessons, instructing students with various learning styles and abilities, and participating in and organizing multiple competitions and festivals. I have experience teaching students with disabilities (specifically blindness and autism). I can teach beginning through advanced students.
I'm a passionate teacher who loves working with enthusiastic and hardworking students! I produce students who have a well-rounded knowledge of music theory, technique, piano literature, and various musical genres. I would love to work with you!

Learning the piano from Emily was such a great experience. Emily's passions and personality has uniquely shaped her into being a great teacher. She's patient- always giving grace throughout the learning process. She's kind- her warming and inviting spirit allows for anyone to feel comfortable and creates a great learning environment. She's knowledgeable- she plays the piano better than anyone I know and has the skill set and education to teach just as well. Emily is much more than a piano teacher. She's taught me lessons that reach far beyond the piano. I would surely recommend her to anybody I know.

Emily Donaldson is an excellent teacher. She's very easy to get along with and is an excellent musician. Treats students with respect. Genuinely invested in the success of every student, and helps each one reach their potential. I can say firsthand that she's the kind of teacher that makes you excited about music.

One of the sweetest and most considerate teachers I've ever had! As a choral instructor and musical director, Mrs. Donaldson has shown great care for me and all other students. She really makes me feel confident in my voice and i always feel like a more mature vocalist after learning something with her.
