Stewart was absolutely magnificent and professional. I am the bride and as many brides know, planning your wedding and choosing the right vendors is an overwhelming process, but very important. A friend of mine recommended Stewart to be our Officiant. My husband and I were looking for a non-religious ceremony that could capture who we are as individuals and as a couple. We met with Stewart and he was exceptional. His main objective was to accommodate us and provide us with our vision of our perfect ceremony. He asked us many questions to acquire as much information as possible to gain an understanding of what we wanted and expected. After our first appointment with him we knew he was the person we wanted for our officiant. Throughout the rest of our process prior to the wedding he kept in frequent contact to make sure we were kept in the loop and allow us to make changes as we went along. We finally came up with our perfect ceremony. On the day of our wedding, Stew showed up early to set-up and greet people as they showed up. Our wedding took place on the beach and Stew came prepared. He was well dressed and brought all items necessary. He came with his own speaker and mics. One thing my husband and I did not want was a generator ruining our wedding; however, Stew's Speaker was portable and did not require any electricity. Our ceremony was absolutely PERFECT!! He captured our vision precisely. He truly made our wedding meaningful and special. After the ceremony, many of our friends and family came up to me to ask where we found him and if he had any business cards because they thought he did a phenomenal. Overall, I was very satisfied and would HIGHLY recommend Stewart Bubar!!!

Stew wrote a beautiful set of vows that involved my Buddhist leanings and my husband's agnostic views. Our families are widely varied in their religious beliefs, so it was nice to have a service that didn't offend, but also emphasized our shared views about harmony and compassion. He graciously solicited our critiques to make sure we had the service that fit us. If you're looking for someone who is well-versed in the faiths of our planet without a dogmatic perspective, and a gentle gravitas, Stew is your guy! What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fees are fair and competitive. Because of the types of personalized ceremonies that I prepare, there is a lot of time and effort that goes into them. My basic fee is $225. In some cases, I add an additional fee for excessive distance. Also, if a couple wants me at their rehearsal, that is an additional $75.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once a potential customer responds to my quote, I get in contact with them to determine exactly the type of ceremony that they wish to have. If requested, I send them a sample ceremony that can be modified according to individual desires.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified by the Humanist Society of the American Humanist Association to perform a variety of life cycle ceremonies. I am proud of the weddings, memorial services and funerals that I have performed over the years.
