I contacted Ashley about a wooden table that had a top with a natural finish that didn’t protect the wood sufficiently, so it had dark strains and water marks across the surface that looked awful. Ashley immediately new how to refurbish it and was excited to get started. She sanded the surface to remove all the stains and marks from years of use and then applied a golden stain that enhanced the light top and brought out the grain pattern. When she had finished she applied a more durable finish that will stand up to constant use without showing blemishes. It now looks better than it has in years. I would recommend Ashley for her knowledge of wooden furniture restoration.Nov 8, 2018Verified
Worst experience. She spent 4 days trying to convince me to use her for this repair then blows us off. Go elsewhere for your repair needs. this one is flakey and zero communication / reaponses. Very unprofessional.Sep 27, 2018VerifiedShabby Little Secrets's reply
Naren, First of all, thank you for your feedback. I would love to answer your review comments. First of all, we spent 4 whole days discussing back and forth to finalize moving forward with the job. I obviously wanted to take care of your refinishing needs by simply that comment alone. I apologize for never messaging you again during the following week. I have been incredibly sick for the past 2 weeks. One thing after another. Not making up random excuses but simply trying to shed light on what was going on on my end. We had great discussions and communication up until last week when I started feeling so bad. I have been catching up since this Tuesday when I could actually start to work and make calls again. I would have even of been happy to still do your project. I just wanted you to know I did not intend to blow you off after you hired me intentionally. The review really hurt me bc that is the exact opposite of my intended relationship with customers is. Thank you for your very honest feedback and warning to my potential customers moving forward. I will take this as a very big, publicly humiliating life lesson? I don't know much better what I could have done being as ill as I was. I wish I could have answered your messages and I wish things had worked out but I most certainly did not spend days going over all the details to win the job, just to intentionally ignore you. I operate a business and I work alone here so it was simply just a matter of bad timing for unforseen life situations. I wish I could have talked to you prior to your warning against my business, but unfortunately I will have to settle for hoping you will accept my apology after reading my response. Just to clarify again, I did and even still did upon signing onto Thumbtack today to still refinish your nightstand, just with a week delay for my illness. I wish the best for you and your project. Sincerely, Ashley J.

Hi Jan, I apologize I didn't get back to you in a timely fashion for your repairs. I messaged you with questions and then my week became incredibly busy. I just have checked my Thumbtack account only to find you "hired" me, but only to leave your review. I assume you do not want to hire Shabby Little Secrets. I wish you would have called or emailed the contact info I provided but all I can do is apologize for me taking a few days to reply. Wish we could have worked something out. Good luck with your repairs. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused by not replying immediately. Thanks for your honest feedback. :)
Shabby Little Secrets was amazing! They provided me with great suggestions for my kitchen cabinet makeover and their price was the lowest out of SIX estimates we received. Her samples and detailed description of their refinishing process really put our minds at ease. Choosing Shabby was not a hard choice! Ashley came in and did everything she was supposed to and MORE! She even painted the backs of the doors free of charge since our budget was capped out. Her work was phenomenal and she will be vack later in the year for all of our bathrooms. If you are in need of quality, affordable, beautiful work- pick Shabby Little Secrets and they will take care of you! Thanks so much for all your hard work! Much appreciated.Apr 15, 2018VerifiedShabby Little Secrets's reply
