Thanks for the review! I look forward to seeing you Saturday. We're going to get you rolling and have fun doing it.
I like Mike. He is a very good guitarist and has a good teaching technique that gets one playing songs very early. My impression is that he could contribute to the skills of working professional musicians.Sep 29, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Half hour lessons are $30 each, paid monthly in advance. I do give makeup lessons for students who notify me at least two hours before they're missed lesson. Most teachers require 24-hour notice, but how did you know yesterday you weren't going to feel well today? Also, whenever I miss a lesson you do not pay for it.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I quickly determine the student's current level. After that I decide which method of teaching would best fit them. They might need some dexterity training first. Then, as soon as possible, I get them into playing songs at their level and go forward from there. There are exercises they could do, but that's not music. There is plenty of training for dexterity, ear training, and music theory that can be incorporated with songs, instead of doing boring exercises. I try always to keep things as simple as possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? After playing by ear for eleven years, I was fortunate to find a mentor who not only taught me how to deal with people, but who took me from rock'n'roll all the way through music training from Berklee College of Music. I have attended seminars and workshops to better determine different ways to customize lessons for each individual student. I have also performed and recorded in Dallas and surrounding areas.
