- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 6 years of personal experience from working in the industry and having the help of my father in uncle who have been in the workforce longer than I’ve been alive. Am bilingual and very knowledgable with all types of native plants, trees and grasses. Trained for an irrigation course as well.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Learned from my father who has been in the industry for over 25 years! Working for 3 companies during that span helped him become not only a learner but also a mentor to me. Working in the industry for so long helped him learn the changes that have taken place in the last 25 years. Along with keeping up with the changes he also incorporated new ideas of his own to better understand the business. Learning from him and becoming a witness of his craft motivated me to follow in this line of work!
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A total front yard renovation. This project took us two weeks to complete due to the weather. The yard itself was in a rough shape. We installed new grass, new plants, new stone beds and did irrigation adjustments along with tree trimming for better sunlight to grass and plants. The most rewarding part of all was not only the happiness and satisfaction of the home owner but also neighbors around the neighborhood! To be able to come up with a plan/idea and to execute it to perfection made it all worth it! Went from the worst yard on the block to one of the best in the neighborhood!
