FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate is $60. If the lessons take place in your home, there is a $10 travel fee per lesson. This fee includes travel time to and from the lesson, which reduces my availability to teach other lessons. The tuition includes: 30 lessons per school year, 8 lessons over the summer, optional group classes, optional participation in Dallas Music Teachers Association events, and recitals.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will speak over the phone initially to ensure I am the right teacher for you and/or your child. Then, an interview and short, free-of-charge trial lesson/interview will take place. If we agree to begin lessons, we will go over the studio policies, you will sign them, and we will get started!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began piano study at six years old and completed by Bachelor's in Piano Performance at SMU in 2017 under Dr. Carol Leone. While there, I won the Undergraduate Concerto Competition, as well as the Paul van Katwijk Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Pianist twice. As the recipient of a full-tuition scholarship and stipend, I am now a Teaching Fellow and Master's of Music candidate in SMU's renowned Piano Performance and Pedagogy department. I taught private piano and group piano to students age K-12 at Frisco School of Music from 2012-2013, and have now maintained a private piano studio since 2013. My students have consistently received a superior rating of 1+ at DMTA Achievement Auditions, and have performed at venues throughout Dallas. At SMU, I teach 7 private students, one college group class, and one children's group class under the guidance of Dr. Cathy Lysinger, Dr. Hyae-jin Hwang, and Kevin Gunter. I am also studying jazz piano with Ms. Julie Bonk, and love sharing jazz with students in addition to classical music.
