Introduction: I offer lessons for violin and viola from beggining to professional. Having three teens of my own, I love Kids and enjoy helping them learn and grow. I teach at both Cal State Long Beach and Biola universities, perform regularly with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and I am currently principal viola of the Las Vegas Philharmonic. and an active freelance musician in the Los Angeles and Orange Counties areas. In the past I have taught at University of Nevada Las Vegas, Brigham Young University and Dixie State University. For 6 years I was director of orchestras at Tuacahn High School for the performing Arts in St. George, UT where I taught beggining and advanced orchestras along with music theory, technique classes and wind ensemble. I also currently coach at 3 CUSD high schools and 1 middle school. Additionally I have performed with the Chicago Symphony, LA Chamber Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony and many others Over the years I have taught hundreds of private students. These students have gone on to enjoy the instrument, grow in their skills and increase there cognitive and creative thinking skills. While some have gone on to pursue music more formally or professionally, most have just enjoyed their time on the instruments, whether you children or adult learner's. I enjoy the "light bulb" moments. Additionally, watching students grow through music by developing their ability to work with critique and finding ways to improve is really an amazing process.

Amazing Viola teacher, best I ever had. He has a clear cut teaching style, focusing a lot on technique. He goes beyond the sheet music and is very knowledgable about performance psychology. He's an active performer and is able to share his insight into the industry. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone.

Hands-on and in-depth teaching, Jason Bonham puts the utmost effort into his lessons and creates a warm atmosphere. I would recommend him for anyone looking for a caring teacher who will work with the student until they get it right. He creates personal relationships that help make the student feel comfortable, all while remaining un-biased.

I worked with Jason throughout high school. He helped to shape me into the musician that I am today, and I am so grateful for all of his deducation and time with my peers and I. He is especially adept at teaching in small groups or one-on-one. He has a very direct, no-nonsense approach, focusing on technique and attention to detail. He is an inspiring and motivating teacher, well-suited for those who are willing to put the work and time in to progress quickly. He is incredibly knowledgeable and witty, and a wonderful teacher all around.
