Introduction: Having taught language arts and drama for eight years in a Title I school in South Florida, I have a multifaceted approach to teaching students of every learning style. Each of my tutoring clients gets individual attention and access to resources normally not found outside of the classroom. I do provide support outside of simply meeting and working during a session. I work to make sure each student is individually moving toward his or her greater potential based on his or her natural ability to learn. My focus is Language Arts, but I have much experience in teaching study skills, test aptitude, and social studies. Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry are not within my range of strengths in teaching. Marcie was my drama teacher for my Senior year of high school. Although I didn't experience her as an English/Literature teacher, I could tell from the reading and writing assignments in the drama class that she would excel at teaching those subjects. In my experience of her as my drama teacher, she would always find new and engaging ways of teaching. I recall group exercises in which we were challenged to write and act a scene in front of the class and also provide constructive feedback to the other groups. I also recall exercises that were designed to encourage "outside of the box" thinking. Of these exercises my favorites were the various improv games and the section dealing with "Method Acting". Marcie is not only an excellent educator, but also someone you can confide in. She truly cares about her students and doesn't treat teaching as "just a job."

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing varies depending on travel time and off site planning. Clients may purchase packages or single sessions. Packages include a discount, but all clients will have equal access to my services. Prices vary from 40 to 75 dollars per hour. No midweek session would cost more than 60 per hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It’s important to know what the client needs and the goals he or she wishes to achieve. My job is to assess and work on a plan to help this student reach these goals using his or her own abilities.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelors Degree in English and taught Language Arts, grades 9-12, for approximately 8 years.
