FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started moving for a living in 2009 as result of helping a friend move his home. He owned a small moving business and from his knowledge of me moving myself many times and my performance when I helped him, he offered an opportunity for a full time moving job. There I became very good at positioning furniture without damaging and being fast and efficient. I have a knack for customer service as well so after years of working for someone else , as supervisor for a couple different companies, I decided with all the knowledge I had that I could own my own moving company. Now I always worked in construction on the side since I was young through family businesses. So with many years of experience with home remodeling, I incorporated both trades. Tile, drywall, doors, windows, painting, trim, etc.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently moved a customer from a two story home with spiral staircase. They had a couple large pieces of furniture that they have been trying to move down stairs and called a few different “moving professionals” that could not get it down. They had wall repairs a couple times because of it, and they all left the furniture upstairs telling the customer it could not go down. I was hired to install an interior door a while after, when I heard this over casual conversation, the customer was explaining this problem expressing how stressed they were because of it. I stated that I am also a professional mover, being confident without seeing the pieces of furniture that I could get it down. The customer took me up on it and I gave him a price if successful, no price if not. My helper and I managed to finagle it down carefully without touching the walls and the customer was amazed. I explained how I did it due to my experience with a similar situation.
