What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to have a phone conversation to discuss the details of their transportation needs then book a reservation with a major credit card which we email the customer an invoice using our secure payment processor so nobody at the company has access to credit card numbers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our drivers attend safe driving courses which include winter driving skills and accident avoidance.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
We follow the UberBlack pricing model which is $3.20 per mile and 35 cents per minute without ever charging surge prices. We can also charge $60 per hour if we will be sitting for more than an hour as is the case in weddings, concerts, sporting events.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started providing limousine service in Aspen, CO in 1996 when I saw an opportunity to buy into a company that needed an owner operator with experience owning a business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have driven everyone from high school kids going to the prom, business executives, shopping trips, and a wide variety of celebrities from film, television and sports. We don't discriminate on our customers so whoever wants a designated driver in a luxury vehicle then we take them.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Definitely make sure the driver you hire has been fingerprinted and passed an FBI background check. Ridesharing companies like Lyft and Uber do not run fingerprint background checks or require their drivers to be licensed by the state of Colorado or carry commercial insurance. You don't want to put your life or children's lives in the hands of an unlicensed drivers that know you are leaving town for vacation or will be away from the house for several hours at a time. Always check the company's PUC license number and that they have Livery plates on their vehicles.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
How much time would you need a chauffeur? The options on Thumbtack are for hourly usage only but we operate on a different method using mileage and time. I suggest asking about mileage charges, tolls, airport fees prior to booking. And always make sure they are licensed by the state to operate as a luxury limousine service.
